Marah (duo) house concert, Saturday, April 21

We’re proud to announce that Marah will play at our place on Saturday, April 21 (doors 7PM, show 8PM).  Founding brothers/front men, Dave and Serge Bielanko are taking a road trip out from Philadelphia to play a stripped-down duo show for us.  If you’re not familiar with the band, here’s a little blurb by Lynne Margolis from Paste Magazine:

“With Angels of Destruction!, Philly natives Dave and Serge Bielanko, and their band have cranked out another relentlessly energetic dose of fast-and-loose brilliance. Angels reaffirms that these scrappy underdogs (and fans from Stephen King and Steve Earle to Bruce Springsteen and Nick Hornby) are not misguided in their unwavering belief that it’s still possible to save rock ‘n’ roll. As long as Marah lives, the epic rock album will not fade away.”

Here are links to a few songs by the full band you can check out (we couldn’t find any videos of the duo version):

“Point Breeze” (on Conan O’Brien)

“Sooner Or Later In Spain”

“Raise Your Hand” (w/ Bruce Springsteen!)

“Faraway You”

Suggested donation for this show is $22 adv/$25 DOS per person. As always, all this donated money goes to the band. To make a reservation, EMAIL REPLY ASAP (include number in your party).  These house concerts sometimes max out quickly, so please reply quickly if you’d like to attend.

Chuck co-founded the famed ‘90s Alternative Country quintet BR5-49. The band’s seven albums, three Grammy nominations and the Country Music Association Award for Best Overseas Touring Act of 1997 built an indelible bridge between authentic American Roots music and millions of fans worldwide. Chuck also co-produced popular tribute albums to Johnny Cash and Waylon Jennings, guest-lectured at Vanderbilt University, and became a staff writer at one of Nashville’s top song publishers. In 2008, he was the Musical Director/Supervisor for the Broadway/West End musical Million Dollar Quartet (which broke the record in Chicago for longest running musical).
